Son en estas épocas del año en las que uno no se libra de una buena gripe. Este fin de semana me tocó a mí. Mi esposo me preparó un remedio casero al que bautizó "Soft Kitty" en honor a la serie de televisión Big Bang Theory.

Is in this time of year when catching a flu is innevitable. This weekend was my turn. My husband made me a homemade flue remedy which h named "soft kitty" after the soap opera Big Bang Theory.

Este preparado consta de jengibre, miel, polen, jugo de lima y unas gotitas de amargo de angostura.
This beverage is made of ginger, honey, pollen, lime juice and angostura bitter.
Nosotros en casa compramos una miel orgánica que viene mezclada con polen y cera de abeja, una buena cucharada de esta miel es suficiente. Si no consigues esta miel, una cucharada de miel regular y una cucharada de polen bastará.
We usually buy an organic honey that comes with pollen and beeswax, one spoonfull of this honey should be enough. If you can´t get this honey, one spoonfull of regular honey and one of pollen.
Exprimimos de 4 a 6 limones sobre la miel.
Squeeze the juice of 4 or 6 lemmons on top the honey.
Rallamos el jengibre, mezlcamos todo y llenamos la taza con agua hirviendo. Para terminar un par de gotitas de amargo de angostura. Ahora, a tomarlo lo más caliente posible y comenzarás a sentir como se te despejan las vias respiratorias y te calma el dolor de garganta.
Eso si te advierto que es un sabor muy fuerte!
Grate the ginger, and mix it along with the other ingredients, fill the cup with boiling water. To finish add a few drops of angostura bitter. Now, take it as hot as you can and you´ll star to fill how your repiratory tract stars to open and the sore throat diminishes.
I warn you the flavour is very strong!
